Th. Inc. Room

Eden believes that emotional functioning can affect a child’s ability to access education fully.  We believe that by providing a therapeutic environment , relationships and activities we can offer children the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Eden promotes the Th.Inc.Room approach and combines therapeutic, nurturing and educational approaches.  

Children will be given the opportunity to use play to work through any issues and experiences that are preoccupying them and/or causing them emotional distress.  By providing children with the opportunity to participate in transformative play we can enable them to cope better with life circumstances and therefore access school more effectively.

Research on Emotional Literacy shows that it is the level of emotional skills that determine our successes in life (both personal and professional).  It also shows that these skills can be taught. We have chosen to provide focussed teaching of emotional skills to equip our students for life, increasing the chances of them experiencing well-being and fulfillment.

The aim of the Th.Inc.Room is to try to meet the needs of children failing to access school fully or a range of social and emotional reasons.  It is a specially allocated and developed room with a specific focus. It has an allocated worker who has an understanding of therapeutic approaches.  It delivers tailored programme that merges educational and therapeutic approaches.
