Personal Development

Our SMSC programme is delivered through our PSHE, Citizenship programme and through assemblies.  Please read our additional information on our SMSC programme HERE.

Learning Outside the Classroom

Our pupils also spend time learning outside the classroom to build resilience, self-esteem and social skills. Pupils have the opportunity to go climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and caving.

Pupils have the opportunity to attend enrichment at the end of every day.  This includes subjects such as craft, running a café, alternative sports and games.  The enrichment programme further builds on self-esteem and social skills, it also allows pupils to succeed and try new things.

Personalised Interventions

Our pupils all have their own personalised intervention programme. The interventions range from Handwriting and Phonics to Art Therapy.  Our staff are trained in Mental Health First Aid, Art Therapy, Lego Therapy, Therapeutic Play and Emotional Literacy.

There is a comprehensive careers programme at Key Stage 3 that includes STEM events, visits to employers and visit from employers.
